We are looking to hire a Market Development Manager for the Pacific Northwest or the Northeastern
portion of the United States


This is just a high-level overview of the role.

In this role, you will be responsible for representing MBCC Group’s key brands with design/specification firms, specifying those solutions and with enabling our sales organization for success. The role operates as an architectural specifications representative that works as part of a team across the US geography.

As part of the Building Solutions Team and reporting to the Director of Strategic Development & Specifications, this position will provide a local marketing/specifications presence and sales enablement function for MBCC Group’s Construction Chemicals business unit.

This role will

a) build a network of design professionals based on recognizing and meeting customer needs

b) represent construction chemical solutions with key design offices to improve specification position

c) align activities and facilitate success of MBCC Group’s local sales organizations

The role will be given some freedom and budget to employ different strategies to achieve goals. While not responsible for sales, this position will have specifications growth and activity-based expectations.

These skills and experiences will make you a good fit for this role

  • A Bachelor's Degree is required in architecture, business, construction management, engineering, marketing, or science. Masters in Architecture, Engineering, or an MBA
    preferred and/or Professional registration as a structural engineer or architect preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience is required (8 preferred) including:
  • Experience selling value-added solutions in the building industry OR experience as a practicing design professional OR experience working with building specifications
  • Previous experience with client management required
  • Can demonstrate experience working through others for success
  • Having a network of design professional contacts in the targeted region is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Ability to recognize, prepare and to sell value-oriented concepts to others.
  • Familiar with construction specifications and appropriate design language
  • Ability to understand and use basic financial concepts.
  • Ability to work with spreadsheets, power point and CRM systems to build strategies.
  • Ability to facilitate discussions with stakeholders of different levels/abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively within organization.
  • Must be willing and receptive to training and personal development.
  • Willing to travel regularly (50%) within targeted geographies to achieve goals.
  • Willing to travel occasionally outside assigned geography as needed to achieve goals.
